Proposed Landing Site for ExoMars Rover at Hypanis Vallis
This digital terrain model (DTM) covers a portion of an area once proposed as a landing site for the European Space Agency’s ExoMars 2020 Rover near Hypanis Vallis. This cutout shows the DTM overlain on a HiRISE image. The landing site for the rover lies to the north of this location. The DTM provides topographic information that would facilitate safe landing and navigation of the terrain by a rover.

A fan deposit occurs at the outlet of Hypanis Vallis, which is thought to have formed into a standing body of water, is visible in the southern part of this DTM. In the center of the image, we can observe that the fan has infilled a depression created by an impact crater.
