About: HiKu (Targeting Specialist)
I am a 'Targeting Specialist' with HiRISE. This means that I help to decide where on the surface of Mars to image, then work with the other MRO teams to coordinate our scientific observations. Once our observations are scheduled, I design the HiRISE camera parameters, such as exposure and duration, and then send the commands to MRO. These commands automatically execute on-board the spacecraft and return sepctacular images of Mars.
