IAS Viewer Update
Hey, I’ll bet you didn’t notice, but the IAS Viewer has been upgraded to version 3.1.2.
One important feature enhancement is that the auto-stretch preference is now “sticky.” You can disable auto-stretch once and for all, as indicated in the screenshots below.
With this change, you can load our images and see them in the original stretch, while still having the ability to re-stretch within higher-resolution areas.

Unfortunately, the stand-alone, 3.12 version of the Viewer doesn’t seem to be available for download on-line.

Clifford,
Can you tell us a little bit more about your system? I just verified that the viewer is working from my linux box (running 32bit fedora 9 with the open jdk). I *will* note that I haven’t been able to get the viewer working with the 64bit version of open jdk…. I’m pretty sure the 64bit problem is due to the 32bit jni binaries that are currently distributed with the viewer from ITT.

Hi,
A couple of questions:
1. Who (as in a person) can I contact directly to suggest features to add to the IAS Viewer? For example, a truly full-screen mode (no menus, toolbars, borders, etc.) would be very desirable. And better handling of tiled windows would be helpful.
2. What other JPEG2 viewers are available that can efficiently view these large HIRISE images on the Windows platform? I’ve tried various viewers with JPEG 2000 capability, but they cannot read these files. All I’m looking for is a fast image viewer, with basic cropping capability. And ideally, with a continuous zoom feature like the one in the LizardTech ExpressView plugin which for some reason is no longer able to view the HIRISE JP2 images, at least for me.
Thanks,
Jerry
